Student disillusioned with UT due to ticket decision

Honestly, what is going on here? This is our school. None of us were forced to come here, we chose to, with the hopes that it would provide us with four years that we will hopefully be able to look back upon with a smile sometime down the road.

But apparently UT administrators have a different idea of what we should remember. It seems they would much rather we think of UT as a greedy cesspool of capitalism gone wrong, with the occasional good sports team, than a place we can honestly say we were honored to attend and would be proud to send our children.

Now I know what you’re saying: “If you don’t like the new policy, then don’t go to the games!” And you know what? I probably won’t.

If it’s a choice between paying $15 to be herded around like cattle so I can watch my school play or staying at home and watching them play for free, I’ll choose the latter. And not to mention I can use that money I saved to go buy a case of beer to enjoy along the way.

So go ahead, charge admission to the games, I won’t be there anyway. But while you’re at it, I would suggest a change to UT’s school color. You won’t have to look far — just open your wallet.
