Fulmer earns more than record deserves

We need to stop letting the players get away with theft, drugs and academic mediocrity. I understand there are budget problems due to rising salaries. Why would you raise the salary of a man whose head was being called for by the entire state of Tennessee last year because he was doing such a terrible job? Tell Phil Fulmer to take a lesson from Pat Summitt — the best coach in the school’s history. She actually wins games and national championships and gets paid less without complaint.
By charging students, the school is going to alienate them from the game and lose concession revenue. Plus, the students who can’t afford to buy tickets will go elsewhere and are much less likely to buy full price tickets as alumni after they graduate.
Who do you think the majority of the fans are at the games? It’s mostly alumni. Giving out free student tickets now reels them in after they graduate. In the long run, there go the supporters. There goes the future of Tennessee football. It is going to become just another sport at some state school. Without student support, it cannot and will not thrive.
Congratulations Tennessee on being the grasshopper. When winter comes along, you’re going to starve.
