Mike Hamilton says, “The bottom line is this: there are only five or six places where an intercollegiate program can go to increase revenue. You have ticket sales, development dollars, marketing partnerships, conference revenue and concessions and souvenir sales.” (“Students to pay for football games,” April 11)
I would counter that there are more places to go to decrease expenses. With tuition going up again and the price for books and everything else increasing, in my opinion, the UT athletics department should be more prudent in their management of resources.
