The UT Gardens, a part of the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, is proud to announce the second annual Holiday Express at the UT Gardens! To be located on the Friendship Plaza of the UT Gardens, the Holiday Express is a garden railroading display sure to delight the child in all of us.
The exhibit will feature at least 10 full trains, running simultaneously on a quarter-mile of track, and nearly 100 buildings to create a miniature world of wonder. The model trains will run through a perfectly proportioned miniature landscape, complete with rivers and waterfalls and decorated for the holiday season. Thousands of bright lights and elaborate, 3-D, to-scale replicas of existing area architecture add an educational element to the display.
The event will be open to the public every weekend from Thanksgiving through New Years. Hours will include November 25, 2009, with hours through November 28, 12-8 p.m.; November 29 from 12-6 p.m.; and then every Friday and Saturday 12-8 p.m.; and Sundays 12-6 p.m. until January 3, 2010. Additional days include December 28-29 from 12-8 p.m. and Christmas Day from 2-6 p.m. Large group viewings can be scheduled by calling 584-7666. |
